Travel Day + Weather

Monday was mainly a travel day for us as we drove down to Berchtesgaden and the Bavarian Alps. Not much to do while driving, so we tried to find the license plates of all the countries in the EU on the way - kind of like trying to find all 50 states. We did good! We only missed a handful, and they were primarily the small principalities (like Monaco and San Marino) or the island nations (like Malta). Most of the others we got.

Now, a bit about the weather . . . 

We’ve had very good weather so far. Tuesday night, a pretty severe thunderstorm storm blew in. Fortunately, we got back to the hotel before it hit. My daughter took pictures as we watched it move in - then she put them all together. If you look at the different pictures, you can see things disappearing as the storm moves in. Pretty cool.

Also, we hiked to a waterfall on Monday (before the thunderstorm) and then to another after the storm. Notice the difference!

Admittedly, these weren’t the same waterfall, but I still think a lot of the difference can be attributed to all the rain that fell on Tuesday night!
