Martin Luther once said: “The world is like a drunken peasant. If you lift him into the saddle on one side, he will fall off on the other side.” These are the chronicles, thoughts, and questions of a Lutheran pastor just struggling to stay on his theological horse, and not fall off one side or the other.
When *Lutheran Worship* was released we had a pastor who recognized that. The children of our school learned Morning Prayer and then they introduced it to the congregation. It was wonderful!
Now it has been so many years since we have used Morning Prayer or Matins or Vespers that I daresay most of the congregation no longer is familiar with those orders of service. We have truly been dumbed down!

And no one can sing it like they can!
