Panama, Day 2

So our second day in Panama was Confirmation Day. So we headed to the church where the service was to be. The Pastor of a little church in a working class neighborhood offered the use of his church for the service. (I'll explain why in the next post!) Here are some pictures of that church:

It was a pretty nice church with concrete walls. It was open to the outside for ventilation, which made the traffic noise a bit loud at times, but not too bad. The service was all in Spanish, for the people who belonged there. And yes, I did the Confirmation rite in Spanish, too. I did okay. Just okay. Some parts I did pretty well, but some of the longer prayers were tough. My tongue isn't used to making sounds like that for that long! :-) But they were all very nice and put up with me. Here's is a picture of us all afterward:

From far left: Pastor Rafael of the Lutheran Church of Brazil, an alliance missionary in Panama. LCMS Missionary Pastor Arthur Rickman, me, and the family.

We relaxed in the afternoon with the family and Pastor Rickman and his family. A very nice time. A couple more family pictures from the afternoon:
