Martin Luther once said: “The world is like a drunken peasant. If you lift him into the saddle on one side, he will fall off on the other side.” These are the chronicles, thoughts, and questions of a Lutheran pastor just struggling to stay on his theological horse, and not fall off one side or the other.

In the Stead of Christ
Here is a good explanation to the question "Can only a pastor preside at Holy Communion?" Go read it!
As the original author of the remarks about the need for a pastor for the Holy Communion, I would like to thank you for noticing and recommending them.
As Fr Weedon noted, I had originally written these remarks as a comment on David Schütz's weblog, and Fr Weedon asked for and received my permission to publish them on his. In addition, I published them on my own weblog (All The Fullness) in a post entitled "Validity" and the Eucharist. There has been a lively and wide-ranging comments thread on that post, which you might be interested to read.
